Listening to Veronica's research in to video hosting I wanted to talk about a video hosting site that wasn't mentioned. It's understandable that Veronica didn't mention it when we were talking because, as she said there are literally hundreds of video hosting sites. What few of those sites provide is live video hosting. Slingbox is a way to watch your t.v. from anywhere on the web, but isn't really a social networking site.
Justin.tv allows you to live stream any kind of video content. Anywhere from live conferences to nerds posting there current video game exploits, it's really very interesting. You create a channel and have a schedule so people know when to tune in to see your programming. Literally now anyone can become their own broadcasting network.
Like youtube though I foresee many copyright issues for the future of this site. Until then it's a wonderful new type of social networking. Hopefully they will weather that coming storm at least as well as youtube.
